Dear Friends and Family,

We just want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We wish there was more time to see each of you more often, but do know you are in our thoughts often. We hope all is well with you and your families.  We definitely want to stay in touch! We want to know how you and your family are doing!

So, how about a little update on our family:

  • Rudy & I still live in El Dorado, Arkansas. We have been here for over 8 years now. How the time does fly!
  • Rudy – has been 40 years with Nexans AmerCable as the Project Capture Director. He plans to retire this February 5, 2027! We are thankful for the many good years and good friends we have made through AmerCable. God has blessed us greatly and we are thankful. Rudy is currently serving our community on the El Dorado Wins Commission for the city of El Dorado and finished his three year commitment on the South Arkansas Arts Center board as past president this past summer.
  • Cherie – I am still working part time for Murphy Pitard Jewelers as the Inventory Assistant. I’m also still a member of Pierian, serving as Past President; taking a weekly watercolor class at the South Arkansas Arts Center; and served on the El Dorado Film Festival committee. This year creatively, I have shown in a couple of art shows:  the SAAC 5×5 Art Dash, Tuesday’s Open Studio Artists art show, the South Arkansas Arts Center Biennial Juried Art Show, and  the SAAC Staff Private Collection Show. Also, I was honored to be selected to a year long show at the Biedenharm Musuem opening in March 2027. In addition, I was a featured extra with lines in a short film comedy Stalling which is running the film festival circuit. And was a day extra in two films last year, one ran the film circuit this year Fixation, and one was in theaters I Can Only Imagine 2 (i was in a sea of thousands, so you can’t see me, but I had a fabulous time!!!). Plus, Rudy and I hit up a bunch of film festivals, because we just really love watching films: El Dorado Film Fest (of course), FilmLand in Little Rock, Film Prize in Shreveport, and Dances with Films in LA. So fun!
  • Rudy and I also have suitcase & will travel: Shreveport, LA; Little Rock, AR; Collierville TN (took mom to the 50th anniversary of the Fair on the Square, the craft festival she and her friend Honey founded); North West Arkansas; Taos, New Mexico; Chicago, IL; Philadelphia, Penn; Los Angeles, CA; Santa Maria, CA; Lake Havasu, AZ; St Joseph, MS; Lake Charles, LA; San Antonio, TX; Houston, TX; Fort Worth, TX; Tilden, TX; Ruston, LA; & New Orleans, LA. We had so much fun with friends and family and art trips and work trips and just us ❤
  • Dean is working towards his 5th year as a flight attendant for American Airlines. He moved to Scottsdale, AZ at the beginning of the year and is based in Pheonix. His girlfriend Leila, who is also a flight attendant moved out there with him. Both are happily working and traveling.
  • Daisy graduated this past May from Louisiana State University with a Masters of Fine Arts in Studio Art. She gave her thesis solo art show and lecture in April and was published in a academic journal for “The Apple” poem in her thesis animation. She has also created another short animation.  You can follow her on Instagram @daiscomics to see her work. After graduation, she moved to Bentonville, AR to work at Crystal Bridges in the Guest Experience Operations (aka docents). She is really enjoying her new job and making new friends.
  • We still have Snow Berry-Veda Bright and Agnes Sundae Bright, our cats.  They both love Rudy the most! Of course, Rudy notes that if I would pet them more, they would like me more. We really enjoy their comical demeanors. You can follow them on their Instagram page @SnowAndAgnes
  • This past March, Rudy’s dad went to heaven to be with Rudy’s mom. He fought the good fight and lived to be 92 years old.  Dana, Rudy’s sister, was such a blessing living here and helping with their dad. She has moved back to Fayetteville, AR and retired and is enjoying being close to her children and grandchildren. a
  • My mom is doing good and staying busy as ever: baking, traveling, going to bible study, fluffing on her house and her favorite past time working in the yard. We have enjoyed going up to see her this fall for the Razorback games. My sisters and their families are doing well, too. They are staying busy with their families and happy, which is all I could ever want for them.

And of course, we look forward to the opportunity to have all the little get togethers with each of you, our family and friends.  I think it’s the moments where we take a little time and say hello that means the most.  Although it doesn’t happen as often as I might like, I must say the moments are treasured in my heart!  I love the connection, and I hope to stay connected with you! Please, don’t ever hesitate to call or text, and hopefully soon we can all gather together in big and small groups!!!  Wishing you and yours, all the Best!

Merry Christmas! and Happy New Year!!!

Love,

Rudy, Cherie, Daisy, Dean, and Leila
